BANGOR AQUARISTS

& BREEDERS SOCIETY

Northern Ireland

Est 1952

Bangor Aquarists Society was formed in 1952 by a few enthusiasts.  Our club meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at The George Green Community Centre, Rathgill Parade, Bangor, Northern Ireland at 8.00 pm. There is a very friendly atmosphere among club members and visitors.  Anyone is welcome to come along to the club meetings and are under no obligation to join right away.

A common mistake is that we are all experts in the hobby.  This is not so.  Most of us started out with one tank.  Through fascination among other enthusiasts the fish club is  what it is today.  We have some members with a few tanks and those who run a fish house with around 50 tanks who have developed an interest in breeding and in showing their fish.

We  try to have a varied programme at each meeting.  This includes talks given by club members, slide shows, videos, fun quizzes and time for a discussion on problems, offering advice or remedies and sharing fish-keeping experiences.  Throughout the year we also hold table shows on several club nights.
