.....Welcome to IFOCAS. It is now 2019, our 19th birthday. We have a membership group for every fishkeeper, group, business and aquarist, whether individual or commercial.........If fishkeeping is your speciality then we are  sure you will find something of interest to you on our site. All  world directories of clubs and aquatic bodies are just one click  away, but while you are here why not join us - it's really  easy.... There has been a slight delay in uplisting new members details recently due to the sheer volume of new members - but do not worry - if you have received your entry codes you are a member even if the public listing is a little delayed

 In addition to joining IFOCAS it is always a good idea to join and support your local and national associations and federations and groups. To help new clubs to contact these groups we are compiling a new directory of local and national federations . Always remember to list the local groups you belong to in your own listings. IFOCAS now lists almost 1.000 active clubs worldwide

Many of you are changing and upgrading your websites and forgetting to replace the IFOCAS logo on to your new sites. Displaying the IFOCAS logo is our only membership condition and as such is our only way of attracting new fishkeepers into the world community. It costs a lot in time and effort to continually check the accuracy of members data and URL entries and ensure that the IFOCAS logo is showing. This time and effort could often be put to better use by us in enlarging the general aquatic community who do care enough to maintain accurate information on members public displays. A motion has been put forward for discussion that: “Member sites who do not display the IFOCAS logo will be suspended immediately until they either; (a) reinstate the logo, or (b) officially cease membership. In the latter case their data will be suspended from all public links within this site..”    Please send all comments on this proposal to the Secretary as soon as possible.

Full Participating Membership is open to Public Aquaria, Online Aquatic and Ichthyological Clubs, Groups and  Societies Worldwide and is free.   

Affiliate Membership is open to Offline Aquatic and Ichthyological Groups and associates and is by subscription  .  which is currently U.S.$10 per annum. Subscriptions are refundable on a pro-rata basis when the member goes online.

Commercial (Trade)  Membership is open to all Manufacturers, of Aquatic and Ichthyological Equipment, Products and Materials. Livestock Importers, Exporters and Retailers  and is currently free. Commercial members without websites should join as Affiliate Members .

Experienced Aquarist Membership Status is a relatively recent membership category  open to   experienced aquarium oriented individuals in a particular area who have no local club or organizational body and therefore work alone. IFOCAS will honour these individuals with Experienced Aquarist Membership Status as is appropriate. This membership category became operative on 01/01/2001

IFOCAS will redirect all relevant enquiries from your area directly to your club or organization  (Clubs)( For Example:- Societies seeking to enlarge their membership will have all potential membership enquiries originating in their catchment area (to any of our members' enquiry services such as JAWS, PetFish Online. Kingfish etc.) redirected directly to their  Membership Secretaries or Contact points.)

IFOCAS will redirect enquiries for your product directly to your Sales Personnel

IFOCAS in conjunction with the FishOrphans scheme helps relocate unwanted fish and aquaria to good homes such as hospital wards.

CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

Participating and Trade Membership categories  are both  currently free but dependant upon the following few, simple conditions. 

Members who do not comply with these conditions will have their membership revoked and all references to their sites deleted, so is the IFOCAS logo showing on your site right now!

bulletAll Participating Members are expected to maintain a regularly updated website and give clear contact and communication details on their site. Participating Members who do not update their websites at least quarterly will be notified and if the site continues to remain outdated, transferred to an Affiliate Member status. This will incur a small subscription charge to cover postage and communications.
bulletAll participating members are expected to respond to enquiries without undue delay
bulletMembers requiring publicity for events are expected to supply accurate details as soon as the event status is ascertained
bulletMembers requiring publicity for new products to be forwarded to the full membership list should provide the publicity material plus one sample of the product at least one month prior to such a circulation request
bulletRecorded membership details will be available for the use of other Participating Members upon written request unless countermanded by the check box on the application form below.
bulletMembership Lists are and will remain in the public domain
bulletMembers are expected to promote each other wherever possible. The I FOCAS logo above may be used on any members website or publicity material. Artwork is also available if required.
bulletMembers are mandated to display the IFOCAS membership badge or logos   on their main websites. Failure to comply will cause the membership to revert to Affiliated status with the fees payable then due. It is not a condition of this clause that this logo will be linked to our site, but it would be promotionally helpful to all.
bulletMembers may withdraw from membership at any time by sending an email request to I FOCAS. Such a request will be rechecked prior to membership being closed.
bulletThis Federation is pro-active and members are actively encouraged to sponsor each other and their products.
bulletComplaints are published for democratic debate and analysis
